Chief Minister Raman Singh on Saturday announced the ''Panchmuki Vikas Karyakram' to improve the quality of education and basic facilities in the educational institutions in the State.
The programme will focus on 'Swachch' washrooms and clean drinking water facilities, Academic audit and providing Wi-Fi facilities
The State Government colleges' names should be displayed in 'Glow signs'. The doors, windows and flooring should be repaired as to improve the educational environment of the institutions.
The colleges' management can take the help of Public Works Department, local industries and social welfare organizations. The class four staff can repair the minor works of the colleges.
Higher Education Minister Premprakash Pandey had issued a circular to all the Principals of various colleges to improve the standards of facilities and also that of education. The 'Panchmuki Vikas' programme should be given top priority.
Elocution, debating, Essay writing, cultural programmes and other activities should be held at regular intervals. large number of students should participate in the competitions. 'Placement and Guidance Cell' should be constituted in all the colleges to counsel the students in various careers. Funds had been granted to install Wi-Fi facilities in 50 colleges soon.
