The maximum temperature of city came down to 30.4 degree Celsius due to rainfall on Tuesday and intermittent drizzle on Wednesday. The monsoon is however expected to hit the city by June 23-24.
Overall, however, for most of the day, the weather remained clear and pleasant in the city.According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature of Raipur on Wednesday was 30.4 degree Celsius and minimum temperature was 24.6 degree Celsius. The rainfall was limited to Raipur and a few districts of the State.Although the rainfall on Wednesday was only 7.3 mm in Raipur, the clouds cast over the sky stopped the sunrays making the weather pleasant.
According to weatherman, this is pre-monsoon drizzle and the monsoon is still crossing the border of Karnataka. Disturbance has also been noticed in Bay of Bengal and the monsoon is likely to touch Bastar region by June 22.Thunderstorm and rainfall is expected in some parts of the State on Wednesday night, the weatherman predicted.Meanwhile people took advantage of the pleasant weather and good rush was seen in the market. People were busy with shopping to prepare themselves for the monsoon. The sale of umbrella, raincoats, plastic sheets etc went up with the pre-monsoon rainfall.
Apart from shopping, people also enjoyed visits to parks and other outdoor sites with their families.
