Staff Reporter

Effective implementation of watershed projects in Chhattisgarh can bring about notable changes in villages, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Saturday.

He was launching the website of the High Impact Mega Watershed Project and a book on strengthening the livelihood of minor and small farmers here.

The High Impact Mega Watershed Project in Chhattisgarh was started in February 2019 through the Panchayat and Rural Department in partnership with Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (India) and Axis Bank Foundation.

The project is being implemented in 26 development blocks of 12 districts through 13 voluntary organizations.

The project aims to cover one lakh minor and small farmers by providing them livelihood through watershed management. The structures are made to stop soil erosion, holding water flow and increasing crop area.
