Water tax to the tune of around Rs1,05,867.19 lakh is pending to be paid by a total of 98 industrial units operational in the State, Water Resources Minister Brijmohan Agrawal informed the Chhattisgarh Assembly on Tuesday.
In a written reply to leader of Opposition T S Singhdeo, Agrawal informed that as of November 19 this year, water tax amounting to Rs105867.19 lakh is pending from a total of 98 industries.
For recovery of pending water tax, concerned department frequently carries out correspondence with these companies and also serve notices, he said.
Agrawal further informed that of 98 industries, water tax of Rs54602.58 lakh is pending against Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company limited (East) Korba, CSPGCl-West Korba (Rs16329.76 lakh), M/s Nova Iron and Steel limited-Bilaspur (Rs6078.85 lakh) and Ind Synergy limited-Kotmar (Rs5089.708 lakh).
Similarly, water tax is pending against NTPC Darro Korba (Rs3211.42 lakh), Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation-Borai (Rs2673.93 lakh), NTPC Sipat (Rs2178.9 lakh), BAlCO-expansion project 540 MW (Rs2172.73 lakh), CSPGCl-expansion project 500 MW West (Rs1501.83 lakh), Hydro Power Station-West Korba (Rs1386.69 lakh), CSPGCl-Macadoli (Rs1275.84 lakh), Anjani Steel Private limited-Ujjalpur (Rs1030.68 lakh), Salasar Steel and Power limited-Gerwani (Rs911.759 lakh), CSIDC-Siltara (Rs855.96 lakh), M/s Monnet Ispat and Energy limited-Mandir Hasaud (Rs703.42 lakh), BAlCO (old) plant (Rs755.28 lakh), KSK Nariyara (Rs689.85 lakh), Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Thermal Power Station (East) Korba (Rs608.44 lakh), M/s Bhatia Wine Merchants Private limited-Bilaspur (Rs458.55 lakh) and Bhilai Steel Plant (Rs321.19 lakh)
