Member of Congress Working Committee and Central Election Committee and national star campaigner of the party Mohsina Kidwai, AICC treasurer Motilal Vora and in-charge general secretary of Chhattisgarh BK Hariprasad have reached Rajnandgaon for electioneering.
While addressing media persons at the residence of AICC member Dr Aftab Alam on Wednesday, Mohsina Kidwai said it was not the election of any personality. The Congress has the history of martyrdom. let BJP name any of their martyrs who sacrificed his life for the freedom of the nation. Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was a Congress leader. At that time, the RSS said that they would work as a cultural party, not as a political party. BJP is the political party of that organisation, she said.
Kidwai said that situation in the whole State is in favour of the Congress. The Congress will form Government in the State with full majority. Development of all categories has been mentioned in party’s declaration, she added. AICC treasurer Motilal Vora, while addressing journalists, said that the acceptance of the State Government that there were security lapses in the Jeeram Ghati incident, proved it beyond doubt that law and order in the State has been deteriorated. He claimed that the Congress would come into power in Chhattisgarh. A wave of change is going on in the State. The BJP would lose its Government because of its inabilities, he added.
Replying to another question, Vora said, “Sonia Gandhi is the consensual national leader of the party. We did not compare her with any leader of any other party. In our declaration, we have increased the support price to the farmers after deliberation. People will be given 35 kg rice free of cost. Whatever development works done in the tribal areas, had been done during the Congress rule. The development done in the BJP rule has been offered on the altar of corruption. The BJP Government has been deceiving people of the State by telling the central schemes as their’s,” he added.
Vora said that the BJP has no issue. Whatever promises the Congress has made in its declaration, would necessarily be fulfilled. When asked that the Congress had promised to bring down inflation within 100 days and has not done so, Vora said “the target of our Government is to bring down inflation and it is working on this direction, but there are many reasons for inflation. International market is one of the main reasons for it. The Central Government has been making effort for it,” he added
On the Jeeram Ghati incident, in which name of some big Congress leaders are being linked in it, Vora said that the NIA report is yet to come and after getting the report proper action would be taken. AICC general secretary and in-charge of Chhattisgarh BK Hariprasad, former MP Devbrat Singh, AICC member Dr Aftab Alam, DCC president Vinod Goswami, Kachru Prasad Sharma, district panchayat member Chitrarekha Verma, senior Congress leader Premchand Bafna, former mayor Vijay Pandey, Gautam Sankhala and large number of Congress leaders and workers were present.
