The Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) scheme, which will provide detailed information about plots, was launched on Saturday in Agrikala village in Chhattisgarh's Kabirdham district.
Revenue Secretary Reeta Shandilya virtually launched the scheme, an official statement said.
The ULPIN will have a computerised 14-digit ID which will be auto generated based on the geo-reference latitude or latitude coordinates of each plot. Using the ULPIN number all information of the plot can be obtained including the actual status and location.
Officials said it will prevent illegal registration or encroachment of government land.
