Veteran Congress leader Vidya Charan Shukla will finally go up in flames at the place marked by himself on the sprawling premises of his farmhouse popularly known as Radheshyam Bhawan at 4 O'clock Wednesday evening.
Notably, Vidya Bhaiya, as he was called affectionately, running into eighties had constructed a rectangular platform one-and-half years back in front portion of his labhandi located farm house from where his abode is clearly visible and conveyed his wish to some of his close aides that he should be cremated at the platform.
On Tuesday afternoon as soon as the news of his final departure flashed, to fulfill his long cherished desire, labourers were deployed to repair the platform and clear the sub way from his residence to the pyre place so that his funeral procession reached comfortably at the place.
Party leaders and family members, too, visited the place to take stock of the preparations for his cremation.According to the schedule, his body would reach Raipur late night on Tuesday and will be kept for the night at his Budhapara located residence.
On Wednesday morning, his body will be placed in Congress Bhawan for the last darshan of public. In the afternoon, his body will be taken to his farmhouse, Radheshyam Bhawan, and will be kept there for sometime to enable people to have a last view of their leader and, thereafter, it will be taken to the funeral pyre in procession.
