Chhattisgarh remained neglected for decades and it was only in 2000 when the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee understood pain of people and created a new State Chhattisgarh.
The State is now one of those fastest growing, said Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal while addressing an election rally in Balrampur.Agrawal also expressed gratitude towards President Pranab Mukherjee and the Central Government for conferring ‘Bharat Ratna’ the highest civilian award, on Vajpayee.“If we compare the conditions before and after the formation of Chhattisgarh, the difference is clearly visible,” he remarked. The Minister also visited Pratappur of Surajpur district and Wadrafnagar, Balrampur and Ramanujgunj of Balrampur district. He was accompanied by BJP National Secretary Ramvichar Netam and State home Minister Ramsevak Paikra.
He said BJP has remained sensitive towards the pain of people here and this has been the reason why people here have elected BJP Government three times in a row. “In past 14 years several villages have grown into town and towns have taken the shape of cities. This indicates the development of this State,'' Brijmohan Agrawal remarked.
“We want to develop small and big cites in Chhattisgarh with more pace and it is our thought that maximum facilities should be made available to the residents of Chhattisgarh,” he said, adding, “to some extent we have succeeded in ensuring 24 hours power supply, quality road and safe drinking water”.
