Pre poll preparations have taken toll of study in Bastar schools even as their doors opened on Monday after two weeks of Durga Puja vacation but hardly any teaching activities were seen as most of the teachers have been assigned poll duty.
Again, Diwali vacation will start from October 28 to November 9 and only after the poll scheduled on November 11 normal study in schools can be hoped.
Notably, 12 Assembly seats comprising all seven districts of Bastar division and 6 seats of Rajnandgaon district are going to polls in first phase on November 11 for which all the teaching staff of schools have been assigned poll duty. In this connection first batch training for poll bound teachers was held at district headquarters on Sunday.
After two weeks holiday session, schools opened on Monday but no teaching activities were seen in absence of teachers. After a week schools will again have 13 days vacation for Diwali. Therefore, two fortnight long vacations and absence of teachers due to election have affected virtually one and half months study in schools as resumption of normal study is expected only after completion of polls on November 11. Both government and private schools have suffered loss of study due to same holiday vacation pattern except Central Schools which have central pattern.
Also, School education Boards have sought information regarding admissions in class X and XII and after the election form filling by the students of these classes for board exams will also start.
