The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has miserably failed on all fronts, Durg MP and president of BJP’s women cell Saroj Pandey said here on Thursday.
The Congress had promised to control price rise within one hundred days of coming to power but during the past years the prices of essential commodities skyrocketed and increased several folds instead of coming down, she said. The impact of the price rise has been felt in the kitchen as a result, the women were angry.
“This Government is talking about the welfare of the women but failed to pass the Women’s Reservation Bill during its tenure,’’ she said.Simil arly the security of women across the country has been under question. Women have lost their faith on the Government and are feeling insecure under the UPA rule, she further said while talking to reporters.
She also said the crimes against women have increased in Delhi and several other states. Pandey said BJP will reach out to each and every household and make them aware of the one thousand crore rupees corruption which took place during the UPA government. Accusing the central government of neck-deep in corruption, Pandey also highlighted about 2G spectrum scam, Adarsh housing scam, Bofors scams, mining scam, and coal block allocation scam.
The scam surfaced one after other and several ministers of the government had to go to jail. The government inability to control price rise was one of the main cause for which people rejected the Congress in four states. Because of the wrong policy of the government many industries in the country are pushed to the state of closure. She also accused the central government of not creating adequate job opportunity for the youths who constitutes sixty per cent of the total population.
