The South East Central Railway (SECR) has started providing a bouquet of world-class facilities to the passengers though its Multi-functional Complex at the Raipur Railway Station. The Multi-functional Complex comprises a 68 room hotel in which 34 rooms have been opened for the passengers so far and the rest would be opened soon, officials stated.
The complex comprises a Restaurant, Coffee Centre and outlets for buying eatables and cold water. It may also be recalled that ‘Go Green Initiative’ a plantation drive was undertaken in the Raipur based office of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) in February this year.
DRM Rajiv Saxena and Additional DRM Vivek Khare along with other officials of the Railways took part in the plantation drive. The notion behind the drive was to encourage greenery and save plants for the betterment of environment.
Replying to queries, Saxena had informed that about 600 saplings will be planted under the ‘Go Green Initiative”. These saplings after growing will add to the greenery and natural beauty of this office.
large part of land in Raipur Division office is empty which could be used for increasing greenery. The officers and employees of the Department are being encouraged to take care of trees. They will safeguard and take care saplings till they grow enough to take care of themselves, the DRM said. All unions of Railway employees took part in the drive.
