In a major success to dismantle the Naxals urban network, two hardcore female insurgents, one out of them carrying a cash reward of `1.10 lakh on her head came, fell to police net on Saturday.
The duo was arrested from Raipur while they were trying to reinforce Maoist urban network, a senior police officer claimed.Both female ultras were working in a timber mill located in Bhanpuri area of Raipur from where they were tracked down, Superintendent of Police Kondagaon, Abhishek Meena told The Pioneer.
Meena said the arrested left wing insurgents were identified as Soni alias Shyambati, a resident of Chhote Dongar and Jaldai of Narayanpur.
Police had specific inputs that Shyambati was not in Kondagaon area and she had moved to some other place. Working on the information police came to know that she was in Raipur working in a Timber mill and was also trying to strengthen the Maoist urban network. A team of Kondagaon police then reached Raipur and nabbed Shyamabti along with Jaldai.
Shyambati was involved in several Naxal attacks and was president of Bastar Division CNM (Chetna Natya Mandali) one of the offshoots of banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) which strives for spreading the Maoist ideology. She had joined Naxal carder in year 2000 and Police was searching her for past 14 years, the SP said.
Shaymabti, the SP said, had worked as member of Naxal lOS (local operating Squad), deputy commander of lOS and later was made commander of lOS operating in Kudur and Bodhghat areas of the Bastar region. In 2012 she was made Bastar Division President of CNM.
Working for Naxals she had participated in several deadly attacks on police party. last year she along with other Naxals had attacked a police party, near Tetum Burgum hills wherein two jawans of Special Task Force (STF) were killed, SP mentioned.
The other held female Naxal Jaldai was wanted in connection with 12 criminal cases. She was working with Naxals for past 10 years. Jaldai was wanted for her involvement in cases like bomb blast, attacking polling parties/police parties, murder. She was active an active member of Madod janmilita, SP maintained.
