Two children drowned in Puraina pond on Friday afternoon when they had gone to take bath, police said.
Inspector Sanjay Singh informed that the deceased were identified as Suraj Bhoi (7) son of laksham Bhoi and Jagehwar Sahu son of Chuleshwar Sahu (6) both residents of Santoshi Nagar Puraina.
They were students of class 1st in Government Primary School Puraina and had gone to a Pond nearby during recess hours, the Inspector said.
However when the duo did not return, the worried family members searched for the children and found their clothes near the pond.
Police was informed and later bodies of both the boys were fished out from the pond, Singh informed.
A case in this connection has been registered with Purani Basti police station and investigations have begun.
