The mortal remains of veteran journalist Basant Kumar Tiwari were consigned to flames at Marwari Cremation Ground here on Tuesday.
The funeral procession of the veteran journalist was attended by a large number of media persons and prominent citizens besides his family members who paid tributes to the departed soul.
Tiwari had breathed his last after a prolonged illness at Kota in a private hospital on Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, PWD Minister Brijmohan Agrawal in his condolence message stated that with the veteran journalists’s demise the media world has lost a Star who had provided a new direction to the media space of Chhattisgarh.
Tiwari’s demise is an irreparable loss to the world of media which cannot be filled up, he said.
