A drive to check illegal transportation of minerals was conducted by Bastar district officials on the Jagdalpur-Raipur route on November 21.
The checking drive was conducted following directives from Bastar Collector Ankit Anand. The drive was supervised by Mineral Officer RC Netam, an official Press release issued here on Friday stated.
During the raid, a total of three vehicles were intercepted by the raiding team in which minor minerals were being transported illegally.The vehicles were later impounded and were kept under the custody of Police Post In-charge , Bastar.
The vehicles impounded had registration number CG 17H 2896, CG 17H 2897 besides a new tipper with the ‘Sold’ sticker on it.
It had been informed by the District Mineral Officer to the transporters and contractors that transport of minerals in vehicles without holding valid official pass is illegal.
