Chhattisgarh Police on Tuesday arrested three persons for killing a 40-year-old man over old enmity in November last year in Durg district.
Durg Senior Superintendent of Police Badri Narayan Meena told The Pioneer that Mohammad Ashraf and his accomplices Sandeep Patil alias Shetty and Rahul Chourasia have been taken into custody.
They strangled Sheikh Mehar-Ud-Din alias Tuntun and then charred his body.
On November 11, the locals spotted the unidentified charred body in a farm land in Amlidih village.
During investigation, the police learnt about a victim’s missing complaint lodged with Old Bhilai police station. The family members identified the victim.
The police knew that the deceased had old enmity with Ashraf.
He had set ablaze Ashraf’s car and beat him six months ago. Ashraf decided to kill Mehar-Ud-Din and made a plan with his accomplices.
On October 31 night, they strangled Mehar-Ud-Din near the railway track in Bhilai-3.
Police arrested all the accused and they confessed their involvement in the crime.
