Security forces on Friday recovered a total of ten Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), allegedly looted by Maoists from neighbouring Odisha from a cave in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Bastar district, police said.
The EVMs and their control units were found in the cave near Dokradera village on restive Chandameta hills which lies on the bordering region of Chhattisgarh-Odisha in Bastar district, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vijay Pandey.
Notably, a joint team of District Reserve Group (DRG) and local police had launched an anti-Naxal operation from Chandameta police camp under Darbha police station limits in the district when the EVMs were found in the cave.
