Singh ordered the officers to prepare a scheme for campus selection of XII standard students from higher secondary schools for filling up 1,000 vacant posts of paramedical staff including Pathologist, Dresser, X-ray Technician and Compounder of Health Department in Bastar Revenue division.

Provision should be made to impart training to the selected students on Government expense and for their appointment in the Health Department, as per rule, he said.

He said that the works should be completed within the next six months. Now, no separate sanction from Finance Department is needed for these works. The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister has paid special emphasis on sanitation. In view of that, drive for complete sanitation in the State should be speeded up.

The target for arrangement of pure drinking water and concrete toilets in cent percent schools, Aanganwadi centres, Ashram school and hostels should be achieved at war-footing. Singh said that in the issues of sanitation, drinking water and primary education, 10-10 villages each in all the 146 development blocks of the State would be developed as ‘model villages’. If schools have sufficient land, arrangement for giving gardening education to the children would be made, he added. The Chief Minister expressed that complaints of non-testing of water under public drinking water supply system in cities and villages for months has been received.

He said it would not be tolerated and instructed the PHED officials for strict monitoring of this system. Singh told the officers of Woman and Child Development Department that there should be no carelessness in supply of nutritious food to children and expectant mothers in Aanganwadi centres.

He said that providing quality education is the top priority of the Government. Under the education quality campaign, from class I to VIII, teaching and courses needed to be completed on time. It should also be kept in mind that no school, Ashram school and hostel should be without building.
