Chief Minister Raman Singh said that only the Food Security Act of Chhattisgarh would remain in the State. He said that the breakfast, lunch and dinner of the hardworking people of the State would not be complete without rice.
People of the State eat rice at noon and night and the remaining stale rice they eat with salt and onion in the morning. While addressing huge public meetings at Saraipali, Gharghoda and lailunga in Raigarh district, as part of his Statewide Vikas Yatra, the Chief Minister said that rice is the well cherished food of the people of Chhattisgarh.
Though the Centre’s food security Bill has made provision of 5 kg rice per person per month, it would not be sufficient for us, because of that, the Chhattisgarh Government has guaranteed 35 kg rice per family per month in its food security act, the Chief Minister said.
