The Chhattisgarh Seed and Agriculture Development Corporation on Monday blacklisted four seed supplying companies and confiscated their Earnest Money Deposit (EMD).
In an order the corporation debarred these companies from participating in the tender process for the period of five years.
Notable, the Comptroller and Auditor General’s office had taken objection to the tendering process in some of the state government departments and the seed corporation was also among them.
The CAG in its audit found that from the financial year 2012-13 to 2016-17 some of the companies, by forming a cartel, succeeded in getting tenders.
The official addresses, phone and fax numbers of these companies were also found identical and the bidders thus were having more than one company with the same address and phone numbers.
According to Managing Director of the Seed Corporation Janmejay Mohbe the name of the four companies are M/S Ashapura Recycling System, M/S Deluxe Recycling Private Limited, M/S Beejo Sheetal and Kailash Seeds. The earnest money deposits of these four companies have been confiscated with immediate effect and they have been debarred for participating in tender process for the period of five years.
