During the lok Sabha election, if the candidate travels on helicopter or plane for electioneering with a star campaigner, 50 per cent rent of the vehicle will be added into the election expenses of the candidate, Additional Collector MD Kanware informed in an official press statement issued here on Saturday.
If the candidate or his/her election agent attends a rally or share stage at an election meeting with the star campaigner, the whole expenses of the rally or public meeting, except the travel expenses of the star campaigner, will also be added to the account of the candidate.
He said even if a candidate is not present at any rally or at the stage of a public meeting, if his poster or banner is displayed at the public meeting or rally or the star campaigner mentions the name the candidate, the travel expenses of the star campaigner, besides the whole expenses of the rally and public meeting, will be added to the account of the candidate.
If more than one candidate attends a rally or public meeting, the expenses will be equally divided among the candidates. If any other political party or star campaigner of the party participates in the ally party’s rally of the candidate or takes the name of the candidate or share the stage with the candidate, the campaigner of the allied party would not get the travelling expenses up to the constituency. It would be added to the expenses of the candidate.
