In response to a query about his lone son Amit Jogi who is launching his political career from assembly polls next month, Jogi remarked, RsRsAmit is contesting election as per the decision of the high command and my role is to campaign in all 90 seats,’’ When asked whether he would campaign for his son in Marwahi constituency, he replied in lighter vein, RsRsit depends on Amit, if he invits me and I will surely campaign,’’.

Jogi who led the Congress Government in Chhattisgarh from Nov 2000 till late 2003, told mediamen that major decisions about his family are being always taken by Sonia Gandhi and he is abide by her all decisions.

The wheelchair-bound Jogi was camping in New Delhi for several days and speculation was rife that he would be sidelined by the high command for Chhattisgarh elections but he proved his critics wrong and not only managed tickets for majority of his supporters but also managed to get a plump post of Convenor in Congress Election Campaign Committee for Chhattisgarh.

Jogi had also showered praise on Congress treasurer Motilal Vora who has been appointed as Chairman of the Congress Election Campaign Committee in Chhattisgarh.

Jogi slammed Chhattisgarh’s BJP Government and said it had failed in tackling insurgency in Bastar. He claimed that insurgency was kept in check when he was the Chief Minister but Maoists have now become dominant in State’s two-third parts.
