The credit may actually go to lively non-political debates in the social media and not any candidate or political party even as hundreds of youth lined up at the polling centres in the 58 Assembly segments under seven lok Sabha constituencies which went for last phase of polling in Chhattisgarh on Thursday.
The youth, both in urban and in rural belts, were seen queuing up in large numbers in the 14,474 polling centres in the seven lok Sabha constituencies since early morning hours.
Innumerable posts in the social media platforms by the youth had a string of debates on the importance of voting in all polls for almost a month before the lok Sabha polls.
While the social media debates in the Assembly polls in Chhattisgarh had a distinct political colour, this time round, the posts discussed mostly general issues devoid of any political consideration—the prime being how development suffers with wrong choice of candidates.
There were also a stream of urban and rural youth who voted during the last two phases of polls in Chhattisgarh.
