Chhattisgarh Panchayat and Rural Development Minister T.S. Singh Deo on Monday announced the suspension of 14 forest department officers-employees and initiated recovery against a retired IFS officer after Congress MLA Gulab Kamro alleged corruption in construction works under the Marwahi forest division.
A First Information Report (FIR) will also be registered in the case.
Raising the issue, Kamro pointed that under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA), irregularities were detected in 33 works of bridge and stop-dam construction.
