Many shop owners have been selling expired date bottled water here even though the district Collector has directed officials to ensure that people must get safe drinking water, sources said on Wednesday.
Although plastic water pouches are being sold in this tiny city openly, the health and food department officials seem to be taking little interest to stop it. Reports said that several local residents have brought the matter to the attention of district authorities and departments concerned.
District health officer Dr AKS Ratre said the food officer would soon take appropriate action against the guilty manufacturers. He admitted that expired date bottles have flooded the market.
