In an important meeting held here on Wednesday, Shikshakarmis declared observing “Samvilyan Sankalpa Diwas” in all 90 Assembly segments on May 26.
They had appealed to the political parties in the State to stay away from their programme. State convenor of the Shikshak Panchayat Nagariya Nikay Nagar Nigam Morcha, Virendra Dubey informed that the meeting decided to observe the Samvilyan Sankalpa Day in all the 90 Assembly segments of the State. Though, Congress party and Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) had openly supported their demands, the Shikshakarmi Association had appealed to them to keep distance from their movement.
Notably, with a charter of demands with main demand of merger of their services from Panchayat to School Education Department, the Shikshakarmis were on indefinite strike a couple of months ago. later they called off their strike unconditionally with government assuring them of forming a high power committee. As the committee report is delayed the Shikshakarmis are once again busy making their strategy to mount their pressure in the election year.
