On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons on Friday, the Social Welfare Department in Chhattisgarh will hold many programmes with a view to create a more respectable environment for the elderly.
A state-level event will be organized to honour renowned senior citizens for achievements in sports, literature, music, acting, dancing, singing and fighting Covid-19.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that older persons are a precious heritage of the family and society. They have treasures of experience and they show the right path to be followed.
Appealing the society to take care of them, Baghel said attention must be given for their happiness, health and honour.
