In a tragic incident, a senior journalist from Raipur, Devendra Kar, his wife and elder sister lost their lives in a road accident near Jajimura village of Sambalpur district in Odisha on Sunday morning.
‘Devendra Kar was the Chief Editor of a Hindi news daily ‘Aaj ki Jandhara’ published from Raipur. Kar was returning along with his family to Raipur from Puri in Odisha in a vehicle along with his two sons and the driver when it rammed into a roadside tree.
The condition of Kar’s two sons and driver is serious. They have been admitted at Burla Medical College Hospital in Odisha.
After hearing about the shocking incident, Governor Shekhar Dutt and CM Raman Singh have expressed profound grief over the demise of Kar and his other two family members. The Governor in his address said that after the death of Devendra Kar, Chhattisgarh has lost a young and an enthusiastic journalist.
The Chief Minister while expressing condolence to Kar’s family has prayed for peace to the departed souls. In his message, he said that Kar through his journalism had served the State for a long time.
