'Send special cases to high-level scrutiny panel'

SR

State Government has instructed that in case the District Collectors, being the chairpersons of District-level Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committees, encounter any problem or ambiguity in redressing the verification-related cases, they should rather send the details and documents of such special cases to Raipur-based Caste Certificate High-level Caste Scrutiny Committee, for able guidance. Said in an official statement issued here on Thursday.

In the context, General Administration Department has issued a circular from Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan) to Chairman on Revenue Board and all the Departmental Heads, Regional Commissioners and District Collectors of state. Circular states that in order to ban the use of fake and forged caste certificates and to ensure benefits of reservation, those bestowed by the constitution to only eligible beneficiaries, state government has instructed to constitute District-level Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committees in each district of state under the leadership of respective District Collectors.

State Government was made aware of the fact that the chairpersons of district-level committees have sought guidance directly from general administration department. But as it is not the correct procedure and this practice may encumber the course of action, the Collectors have been instructed to forward the details and documents to Raipur-based High-level Caste Scrutiny Committee for guidance on special matters related to caste certificate scrutiny, in case their committees are unable to redress the matters.
