Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday assured that security is not going to be a problem in the upcoming Dantewada by-polls.
He was talking to media persons before embarking on a tour of Mahasamund and Mungli.
“There are no issues related to security. If anyone is going inside after informing the police then they are provided the required security cover,” the Chief Minister stated while referring to death of BJP legislator Bhima Mandavi.
Notably, Mandavi was killed along with four policemen when an improvised explosive device (IED) blast blew up their vehicle near Shyamgiri village in Dantewada on April 9.
Referring to the incident and security provided to Mandavi the Chief Minister said that he (Mandavi) had told police personnel that election campaign had ended and so he did not require the security cover.
Later, he proceeded towards Shaymgiri without informing police. The police officials had even tried to stop him but he did not paid attention to the warnings.
