The District Administration has made elaborate security arrangements in the district for second phase of polling in Chhattisgarh on April 17.

The heavily insurgency infested district has two Assembly segments coming under Mahasamund  lok Sabha constituency mainly Rajim and Bidranvagarh .

The entire district headquarters has  already turned into a fortress with more security personnel arriving in the district for poll duty.

On the other hand two of the polling centres mainly Amamora and Oand are in remote locations in a hilly terrain. During the Assembly polls in the State, the polling team had to wade through the mountain roads for 25 kms to reach their respective polling centres.

However, this time round, the Election Commission would be deploying helicopters to reach the polling staff at the designated centres. A helicopter was sent to the hilly terrain some days back as a trial .

A total of 552 polling booths had been created in the district. In Rajim, a total of 263 polling centers had been established while 289 polling centres have been established in  Bidranvagarh, official sources here informed.
