BJP candidate from Durg lok Sabha seat Saroj Pandey made hectic electioneering on the final day of the campaigning, on Tuesday, to woo voters in her favour through street plays and one-to-one interaction here.
The party workers accompanied by Pandey urged the local population to vote for her for the development of the area. She also cited the developmental works initiated in the seat under her initiative as the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP). She also promised to solve even those remaining issues which she could not do in the past five years.
Addressing an election meeting at station Maroda, she claimed that it was because of her initiative that they got an overbridge sanctioned from the Ministry of Railways and its construction would start soon. She also took credit for initiating Rs 100 crore Awardhan drinking water project phase-II in 2012 among other developmental works in Durg constituency.
She said, the people reposed faith in the BJP and it ushered in development and expressed the hope that they would vote for her for installation of the BJP Government at the Centre.
Meanwhile, the BJP activists went house to house in all the 58 wards in the Durg town seeking the blessing of the voters for Pandey. Pandey’s media in-charge, Rajendra Padhye said, the house to house visit of the party workers was done under the guidance of the local BJP leader and former minister in the State Government Hemchand Yadav. Yadav had urged the party workers to visit every household in the seat to woo the voters for the party.
