National president of the Mahila Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Member of Parliament Saroj Pandey termed the statement made by the Congress national president Sonia Gandhi during her Chhattisgarh visit that after coming to power her Government would do 36 times more development in Chhattisgarh as a lie.
Pandey said that the Congress had made Chhattisgarh its colony and exploited, like the Britons, who had looted the Indians for centuries. People, overwhelmed with the all-round development of the state made during the last 10 years, after the BJP Government came into power, have made up their minds to give power in the hands of the BJP in this assembly election also. Frenzied with this, all the leaders of the Congress, including Sonia Gandhi, have been making false promises, she added.
Pandey said that the BJP’s Raman Singh Government got the Naxalite problem as patrimony. The Raman Singh Government had pledged to fight it in Bastar through development. The huge presence of voters in the just held elections has proved it that they were supporting the development policy of the BJP and that they were not ready to bow down before the Naxalites’ threats.
She said that the naxalite problem is national, its roots have reached Bastar via West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh. Where the Naxalism was born and brought up, there were the Congress Government at that time. Naxalism got the opportunity to take birth in the undivided Madhya Pradesh during the Congress rule. The Congress, by neglect and exploitation of Bastar, provided seeds and fertilizers to the Naxalites. Now, at least Sonia should not play politics on it and considering it as a national problem, cooperate with the State Government that she has not been doing, she added.
Pandey said that the sensitive Government of Dr Raman Singh has been continuing PDS system in the interest of the poor for the last five years, which has been praised at national level also. Now, looking to the parliament election, the UPA Government at the centre has implemented the Food Security Act, in which no mention of family, but a provision has been made to give five kg foodgrain per person.
With a pinch of sarcasm, Pandey said, “would Soniaji take the pain to say that in which Congress-ruled states the scheme has been implemented. If the Chhattisgarh model of giving 35 kg rice per family pleased Soniaji so much, she should have implemented it at the Centre.”
Reacting on the alleged statement Sonia Gandhi that the BJP was playing politics of division, Pandey said that in the 50 year rule the Congress had adopted the divide and rule policy. Now, people of the State would not come in the enticement of Sonia Gandhi and the Congress, she added.
