nReturning Officers, Assistant Returning Officers and Master Trainers were imparted training on different aspects of counting of votes on Wednesday at New Circuit House auditorium, Raipur.
Counting of votes cast in the 2109 Lok Sabha polls in 11 Parliamentary constituencies of the state will be held on May 23 in respective district headquarters.
The counting for Raipur PC will be held at Government Engineering College, E-Block, Sejbahar Raipur.
The master trainers of office of Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh dealt in detail the different aspects of counting of votes on Electronic Voting Machine and VVPAT, tabulation and its data entry, administrative and security arrangement, appointment of counting staff and agent, counting of postal ballot papers, key legal provisions, basic arrangements in the counting centres, declaration of results and follow ups including other basic requirements during counting.
Trainers stated that only authorized persons, who have been issued identity card, will be allowed entry inside the counting centers.
The authorized persons are mainly counting supervisor and counting assistant, Election Commission authorized officials and others.
There is a total ban on mobile phones inside the centres.
The randomization of officials deputed for counting will be done only in presence of Election Observer appointed by the ECI. The counting will commence from 8.00 AM for postal ballot papers and from 8.30 AM for the EVMs and the VVPAT slips.
