On the fifth day of ongoing sanitation and cleanliness drive being held under ‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyan’, the Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) workers on Tuesday took up intense cleaning work at the community halls, public toilets, Rain Basera, Day Care Centres and public places.
Following RMC Commissioner, Avneesh Kumar Sharan’s directives, separate teams of cleanliness workers carried out cleaning work at many localities, lifted garbage and dumped the same at the trenching ground. Spraying of anti-larva chemicals and bleaching powder was taken up in many localities to control Malaria.
As decided, school-going children will take out an Awareness Rally on October 1 while a special cleanliness drive will be carried out to mark the concluding day of the week-long cleanliness drive on October 2.
