South East Central Railway (SECR), Raipur division on Saturday initiated action against illegal settlements mushrooming under its jurisdiction.
Following series of complaints received from railway employees about problems emerged due to these illegal encroachments, railway authority has launched action against numbers of illegal settlements in Wagon Repair Shop (WRS) colony here.
As per information received from the division’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Ratan Basak, the office of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) recently received number of complaints about illegal encroachments making dent in cleanliness campaign of railway following which action was taken.
Population residing in these settlements was affecting hygiene of the railway areas by improperly dumping garbage and opening their toilets outlet system in open drains.
Considering the interest of railway employees, illegal toilets were demolished, added Basak.
