Retiring Govt staff compulsorily without proving their guilt unlawful says Akbar

Staff Reporter

All India Congress Committee (AICC) member and former Minister Mohammed Akbar on Saturday said that the compulsory retirement being done by the State Government of Government officers and employees without proving their guilt is 'unlawful'.

Removing them from service without proving their guilt is also an injustice, he said while addressing a press conference here.

He said that the termination of services of the Government officials and employees was against the constitution.

On one hand , the State Government is retiring the Government officials without proving their guilt while on the other hand, the tainted officials in the Government are appointed on contract after their retirement, he alleged.

Akbar said that the State government was sheltering the corrupt officials in the Government against whom probe has been set up by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
