Despite the Covid-19 crisis, Rs 1,621.67 crores was collected as registration revenue in Chhattisgarh in 2020, or 23.28 percent more than in 2019.
In the current fiscal till January 31, 1.82 lakh documents were registered and Rs 1,087.19 crores have been collected as stamp and registration fee.
In the interest of common people, the government has lifted the ban on sale-purchase of small land plots. So, the number of document registrations for transaction of small land plots has nearly doubled in the last two years.
In these two years, nearly 1.86 lakh small plots of land were registered.
The government’s decision to reduce guideline rate by 30 percent has largely benefited the people. Reduction in guideline rate of property and liberty to sell-purchase small plots of land has made it easier for the middle class to buy houses and other immovable assets.
The government is providing a concession of 2 percent in the rate of registration fee for deeds related to the sale of houses and buildings up to Rs 75 lakhs since August 2019.
This has been continued in 2020-21 as well.
To save parties from inconvenience and to ensure that the registration work runs smoothly, the e-registry procedure has been simplified to buy and sell properties in Chhattisgarh.
