On the last day of Janpituri week, Maoists went on rampage late Monday night, attacking police parties and security forces camps at nine places in south Bastar areas even though no report of casualty was received from anywhere, sources in police control room said.

According to Sub divisional Police Officer lakhan Patle, Maoists fired at security forces at Misma, Polampalli, Kerlapal, Ramaram, Gadiras, Banda CRPF Camp, Timelwada, Chintagupha, Konta and Golapalli. After counter fire by security forces, they fled. Traffic was off roads in internal parts of South West Bastar as Konta-Sukma Road bore a deserted look. On Korar Road near Malgaon, Maoists put up posters and banners along the road, opposing both the Vikash Yatra of the State Government as well as Parivartan Yatra of Opposition Congress.
