Chief Minister Raman Singh will hold meeting at his residence to review the preparations for State Government’s fourth five-year industrial policy, officials said.
The objective of the policy is to bring the State parallel to other industrially developed states by 2020 and to encourage residents of the State to establish their industries and to provide maximum employment opportunities to local residents, official stated.
The first industrial policy was declared in 2001 after formation of Chhattisgarh. The second industrial policy was implemented from 2004-09 and the third from 2009-14.
The industrial growth rate of the State has reached 6.07 per cent with implementation of the third policy. The State Government has set a target of achieving 7.5 per cent growth in industry sector in the 12th five-year plan, officials said.
