'Raman must take moral responsibility for Naxal attacks'

Staff Reporter

Criticising continuous Naxal attacks, State Congress chief Bhupesh Baghel on Monday said that Chief Minister Raman Singh should take moral responsibility of the incidents. “The Chief Minister is heading the Unified Command and he has accepted lack of co-ordination. The planning and strategy of BJP Government seems to be at fault,” he said adding, “Dantewada incident was fourth in a row.”

The bodies of STF Jawans martyred in Sukma were yet to be found when vehicles were torched in Bhanupratappur, he said. Baghel alleged that a police jawan was still under the captivity of Maoists and the Government which had used its full might to free Collector Alex Paul Menon has failed in getting the captured jawan freed.

Various high-level committees constituted by State Government to probe Maoist incidents have become a medium to cover Government shortcomings.  For every probe a time frame should be fixed which should be followed strictly, he said.
