President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday heaped praise on Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh for putting the State on fast track of development and stated that the State has achieved too many things in a short period of 17 years.
“Chief Minister is doing the excellent job, Chhattisgarh is well on the course of becoming the developed State,’’ Kovind remarked while addressing the concluding ceremony of a five-day Chhattisgarh foundation anniversary.
He stated that the newly developed Naya Raipur has set a benchmark in town planning sector which also showcases how fast the State is developing itself. He lauded the Food Security Act of Chhattisgarh and said it has been providing food at highly subsidized rate to 60 lakh poor families.
He also lavished praise on Raman Singh for ensuring free medical facilities to 56 lakh people through Health Smart Cards, providing loan to farmers at zero percent interest rate and free education to girl students.
Kovind opined that Chhattisgarh has immense potential for development as State has minerals and people are very sober. Thousands of people cheered when President mentioned a heart touching sentence for local people in his brief speech “Chhattisgarhia sabse badhiya’’ (people of Chhattisgarh are the best).
