Once again, Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh has been termed as one of the best performing chief ministers of the country. The welfare measures and developmental works carried out in the state during his last three terms have brought him laurels and recognition nationally.
The NDTV news channel had conducted a nationwide survey recently. It found that chief minister Raman Singh has been considered as one among the three top best performing chief ministers in the country. Singh has been given the third number in the list. The survey said about 70 per cent people are satisfied with his work and performance.
The other two who figured in the list are at number one Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and number two Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The survey says the NDA will emerge close to the majority mark. The Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will become the single largest party in the 16th lok Sabha by securing about 214 seats, the survey conducted by Hansa Research for NDTV revealed.
The survey said the BJP will gain significantly compared to what it achieved in the 2009 lok Sabha election. The popularity of the party is on the rise, it found.
The NDTV had conducted a similar survey in February last and at that time it was predicted that the party could get 195 seats. The scene, according to the survey, was found to be completely changed now.
Meanwhile, another new survey has predicted the BJP will win 259 seats which means the party is inching towards the magic figure of 272. The survey gives the Congress only 104 seats. According to it, the strength of the UPA, including the Congress, could get reduced to only 123 seats, which is 108 less than what it secured in the 2009 election.
