SR

The citizens found no respite from the sizzling heat on 7th day of ‘Nautapa’ ( the nine hottest days of summer season) as Saturday turned out one of the hottest days of the season with the city’s maximum temperature crossing the notch of 45 degrees Celsius.

Intense heat waves blowing from South-East end only deteriorated the condition. The citizens preferred not to come out of their houses and offices during the noon hours.

In case of having important and unavoidable works, the people were seen using scarf, caps and umbrellas to shelter themselves to avoid direct contact with the sun rays.

In a bid to combat with the scorching heat, people were also seen taking sugarcane and fruit juices at the roadside eateries. On Friday, maximum temperature of the city was recorded 44 degrees Celsius. The weatherman predicted no respite from the scorching heat in days to come as the sky was clear without any clouds.

The night hours also saw extreme hot conditions due to heat wave. The doctors have advised the people to stay indoors especially during afternoon, wear light shade clothes and maintain hydration by drinking lots of water.

They also asked to avoid spicy food and include juices in their routine diet.
