All India Congress Committee (AICC) Chief Rahul Gandhi is going to arrive in the city on August 10 to inaugurate the newly constructed State Office of Congress party situated at Shankar Nagar.
Party sources informed that the AICC Chief had given his consent to visit Raipur for inaugurating the Rajiv Bhawan on August 10.
Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) Chief Bhupesh Baghel was in New Delhi on Friday to meet Rahul Gandhi and had requested him to provide date for the inauguration programme.
Notably, the State-level leaders of the party were trying that the new State Office which has been named after late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi must be inaugurated on his birth anniversary on August 20. But, the AICC Chief finalized the date of August 10, sources said.
Baghel met the AICC Chief late on Friday evening to finalize the date of inauguration, sources informed.
