The ‘Jan Adhikar Sabha’ of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Chief Rahul Gandhi would be held at Kotmi ground in Pendra near Marwahi from where the former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi launched his outfit Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J) (JCC) (J).
Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) President Bhupesh Baghel and former Union Minister Charandas Mahant were at Pendra on Thursday to review the preparations being made at Kotmi ground for the public meeting of AICC Chief on May 17.
Notably, there were several hurdles in getting allotted the ground on which ‘Jan Adhikar Sabha’ of AICC Chief is being held. The Congress party was trying to get allotted College Ground of Pendra but JCC (J) approached the administration first and got it booked for the public meeting of their Supremo Ajit Jogi for the same day.
Thereafter the Congress party tried for under construction Bahtarai Stadium of Pendra but the district administration denied giving them permission on certain grounds including security reasons.
Meanwhile Bhupesh Baghel, Charandas Mahant along with Secretary In charge of AICC Chandan Yadav and State Working President of the Party Ramdayal Uikey on Thursday visited Pendra and had finalized the Kotmi ground for the Public meeting of Rahul Gandhi.
The AICC Chief would be addressing the public meeting at Kotmi after coming from public meeting at Sitapur the same day.
