Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Rahul Gandhi is the only leader from opposition rank who is continuously exposing the flawed and anti-people policies of the Central government that’s why the Modi government is doing every possible efforts to defame him.
Interacting with the media persons just before leaving for New Delhi on Sunday, he remarked that Rahul Gandhi had effectively highlighted central government’s anti-people decisions such as demonetization, Goods and Services Tax (GST), farm laws, Rafale deal.
On a question about former chief minister Dr Raman Singh’s comment on the fiscal health of Chhattisgarh, Baghel said he could be talking about Central government as people are pulling out their money from share market because of deteriorating financial health of the country.
``Rates of petrol, diesel and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) are on rise. There is an acute shortage of coal and chemical fertilizers. It means the Central government is in dire fiscal condition'', he added.
In the alleged money laundering case linked to National Herald newspaper, he said ``it was running at a loss after which Congress party from 2002 to 2011 in instalments gave Rs 90 crores. Regular audit was done. Some complaints were lodged in the Election Commission and later in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) but were rejected. It was again registered with ED. When payment has been paid in cheques, then how come money laundering issues are being raised''.
