Public Works Department has gone online in order to be transparent regarding its development works. The entire process has been computerised and tenders below Rs20 lakhs are also being processed and issued online. Public Works Department Minister Rajesh Munat said the working and information regarding the functioning of the Public Works Department has become transparent. “It has inculcated fiscal discipline and adherence to rules and regulations. The manual style of operation is slowly coming to an end and Online procedure is taking precedence,’’ Munat was quoted in an official statement.
The minister further said that the Budget allocated to various departments like roads and buildings and expenditure can be visited online. The Income Tax and VAT details of contractors, certificates, and cheques’ list details of various departments, the details of expenditure on laying new roads and asphalt roads and sanction details in the year are available on the official website of the Public Works Department.
