Punit should cooperate : Baghel

Staff Reporter

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday advised Dr Punit Gupta, an accused in a multi-crore scam, to get his statement recorded with the police instead of running from pillar to post dodging the law enforcers.

Gupta is the son-in-law of former chief minister and BJP leader Raman Singh. He is accused of misappropriating over Rs 50 crore when he was the superintendent of the state-run DKS super-specialty hospital, Raipur.

Baghel while replying to a query form media persons at Bhukel in Pithora of Mahasamund district said Punit should co-operate with the police and should get his statement recorded.

Denying that the action was a political vengeance, the chief minister said the ‘law will take its own course’.
