The Chhattisgarh            government and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) will jointly run a public awareness          campaign on health,         education, nutrition and social security in the state.

As part of the campaign, UNICEF on Wednesday handed over more than 1,100 communication devices including mini            projectors, juke boxes and megaphones to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel at an event held at his official residence here.

The aim of the campaign is to reach the maximum number of people through audio-visual medium in local language at Gram Sabhas, Haat Bazaars and Anganbadi and health centres, an official communication said.

The information about government welfare schemes will also be provided. The first phase will target 50 lakh people living in inaccessible areas of 80 development blocks.

Thanking UNICEF, the Chief Minister said that          better communication          facilities were important for any effective campaign.

Baghel handed over the communication devices to the volunteers of the 'Roko Au Toko' campaign and           officials of the Public Relations Department.

He also released several table books of the ‘Roko Au Toko’ campaign. The campaign was conducted to promote Covid-19 vaccination.

The chief of UNICEF in Chhattisgarh, Job Zachariah, the Secretary to the Chief Minister, Ankit Anand, and Public Relations Director Saumil Ranjan were present.
